THINGS WE DID: We began the day wid a prayer and a Prayer song followed by a short speech
by Mrs.Shanthi who organized the entire camp.We took the NSS pledge and
the youth’s pledge and proceeded the day.
Firstly, we visited the Exnora farm at Cholavaram. The place was mind-
Boggling as it was entirely natural. The whole place was calm and quiet and was
Far a difference from the outside world. Here we met Mr.Natesan and his wife,
who took care of the entire Farm. Here we saw all about afforestation,
Nitrogen fixation, rain-water harvesting, the Usefulness of weeds, Algae and
lot more Things. The main concept behind the Farm was that we must keep
our mother Earth green and clean.
Mr. Natesan, gave us a detailed Explanation of how we must keep our
Environment a safe place to live in and how We can protect the earth by
doing some Small deeds as planting trees in our homes and surroundings. We also learnt about
Biological nitrogen fixation.
Later that day we went to the red hills old age
Home. The campus was extremely huge and
Beautiful. Here we met old people including
Couples who were desolated by their children.
We experienced the sufferings of them and tried
To brighten their mood by our happy talk and
Comforting words. We programmed a dance,
Skit and a song in the home and then
Proceeded to Muttukadu where we stayed.

THINGS WE DID: On this day,we started the day with a small prayer
and we also did some health warming exercises. We
later on proceeded to visit the karikattu kuppam.
The people who stayed here were tsunami victims.
Here we collected some data regarding their life after
Tsunami. It was surprising to see that the people who
stayed there accustomed to the place offered by the govt.
very well even though they were upset about leaving
their own homes. The children were being well educated in
near by schools.

DATE:28/12/05
THINGS WE DID: On this day we conducted a small program to the people
of karikattu kuppam about the importance of keeping the
environment clean. The program was in support by the
EXNORA. We informed them about the importance of
Hygiene and also the disease that would spread if the
environment was not clean. We projected to them a slideshow
on basis of this.

DATE:29/12/05
THINGS WE DID: On this day we conducted an eye camp to the people of
Karikattu kuppam. The camp was in support by the doctors .
Many ophthalmologist helped us to test the vision of the
residents there.A survey report of the camp told us that
most of the people aged between 50 to 70 suffered from
short sight and some cataract problem.

DATE:30/12/05
THINGS WE DID: On this day we conducted a small camp in a school in T-nagar.
This camp was conducted for bringing in awareness for the
dreadly hepatitis disease. We also injected many children
from the nearby area with the hepatitis injections so there
could exist a small population without the disease from those
areas and that it will bring in the true awareness of this
disease.

DATE:31/12/05
THINGS WE DID: On this day we went to an old age home in kanchipuram. It was very
pitiable to see the no of old parents left astray by their children. The
enthusiasm they posses, inspite of so much of sorrows in heart, shows their great
determination and will power. A large number of old people were involved
in handworks and their strength & vision of life was extremely amazing.Admiring their insights abt various thngs taught me if u have the wil to do sumthng,u can definitely achieve it overcoming the various obstacles tht tread it..
Thus ended my week long memorable experience on various thngs in life making me cherish every moment wid a lot of yearnings n learnings..
